Unlocking Code Activation
Important: Unlocking codes should only be used when needed for activating older versions of SwissSys (pre-v11.71) or as specifically directed by ChessRoster support. Most users should use the standard activation token process instead.
Unlocking Codes vs. Activation Tokens
Understanding the difference between these two activation methods:

For New Purchases: When you purchase SwissSys, you’ll receive an activation token via email immediately. Only use unlocking codes if you’re specifically working with older software versions or directed by our support team.

Unlocking Code Activation Process
Important: Unlocking codes are specific to your computer’s Machine ID. On recent versions (v11.73+), the Machine ID is shown in the advanced section of the registration screen.
Standard Activation Steps
For most users with an unlocking code, the process is straightforward:
- Launch SwissSys after installation
- Go to Help → Register SwissSys
- Enter your unlocking code directly in the combined “Activation Token/Unlocking Code” field
- Click “OK” to complete the process
Note: Unlike activation tokens, unlocking codes can be used without an internet connection.
