Upsets - Reports Menu
Generates upset reports showing results where lower-rated players outperformed higher-rated opponents.
Upset Point Calculation
An upset is counted only when the player’s rating is lower than the opponent’s. Both players must carry a real (non-estimated) rating greater than zero — estimated ratings and unrated players are skipped on both sides of the pairing.
| Result | Points Awarded |
|---|---|
| Win | Full rating difference |
| Draw | Half the rating difference |
| Loss | None (zero) |
| Qualification | Player must be rated below their opponent |
Draw upsets are flagged with an = next to the point value, and the dialog footer reminds
you that “Draw upsets are marked with =.”
Report Modes
The Chart menu offers three ways to score upsets. Switching modes recalculates the grid for the current section immediately.
| Mode | What it scores |
|---|---|
| Individual upsets | Each player’s single best upset across all completed rounds — the one pairing that earned the most points. |
| Cumulative upsets | The sum of every qualifying upset a player scored over all completed rounds. |
| Upsets by round | Each player’s best upset within one chosen round. Use the Set round… button to pick the round to display. |
Display Options
The Options menu’s Dignity saver toggle hides the “Victim” column in the Individual upsets and Upsets by round reports, sparing the higher-rated player from being listed by name. Dignity saver applies only to those two modes: it is disabled in Cumulative upsets, which never shows a victim column (a cumulative total has no single opponent to name).
