Enabling Colorblind Pairings
Colorblind pairings produce matchups as if piece color (White/Black) were not a factor. SwissSys ignores color balance when assigning opponents.
When to Use
- Testing: Compare colorblind pairings against normal pairings to understand how color preferences affect matchups.
- Special events: Formats where color is not tracked or does not matter.
How to Enable
Open the Pairings Setup dialog
Start the pairing process for the next round via Pairings → Pair Next Round (or press F5).
Enable colorblind mode
In the Pairings Setup dialog, check the Colorblind pairings option.
Make pairings
Click OK to Pair. The resulting pairings will not account for color history or color balance.
Colorblind pairings may not comply with USCF or FIDE color-assignment rules. Use this option only when color tracking is not required for your event.
