Game Wins - Fixed Roster Tournaments
In fixed-roster team tournaments, game wins (total individual board points) serve as a common tiebreak alongside match wins. Understanding how game wins are recorded helps you manage this data accurately.
Automatic Calculation
If you enter results player by player (board by board), SwissSys calculates game wins automatically from the individual results. No extra steps are needed.
Manual Entry
When you enter a result for a team as a unit rather than board by board, SwissSys will prompt you for the game point total.
The dialog asks how many game points the team won. Enter the total, or click Stop Asking if you do not need to track this information.
The game point value must be between 0 and the maximum possible (number of boards). Decimal values ending in .0 or .5 are accepted.
Entering Game Wins Later
If you need to update game win totals after the fact:
Switch to team-based view
In the main view, use Ctrl+T to switch to team mode (fixed-roster events only).
Enter Edit mode
Click into the result cell for the round you want to update.
Enter the game point total
Type the corrected game points value for that team.
You can also recalculate game wins from individual player results using Tools → Update game wins in the Team Roster/Standings dialog. This is useful if you manually edited game wins and want to revert to the values recorded by individual board results.
