Swap Primary and Secondary Databases

Use this command to instantly swap your primary and secondary databases. This makes your secondary database your primary one and vice-versa.

When to Use This Feature

This feature is particularly helpful when you:

  • Frequently need to access player information from different rating databases
  • Want to quickly compare player ratings between different database sources
  • Need to switch between USCF and FIDE databases during registration
  • Work with both current and archived player databases

How to Swap Databases

  1. Navigate to Database | Swap Primary and Secondary Databases
  2. The system will instantly exchange the database assignments
  3. Your registration dialogs will now search the previously secondary database first

Understanding Database Roles

  • Primary Database: The default database used for player searches during registration
  • Secondary Database: An alternate database you can switch to or use selectively — for example, a second USCF file with different rating types, or a FIDE database for international players

Prerequisites

You must have both a primary and secondary database configured in your environment options before using this command.
