Results Editor

The Results Editor lets you directly edit a player’s game history: results, opponents, and colors.

Access: Double-click a player’s result in the main view.

How to Use

The dialog displays all of the player’s games, one round per row. For each row:

  • Set the result: - (loss), = (draw), or + (win)
  • Set the color: W (white), B (black), or - (none)
  • Enter the opponent’s pair number

The pair number you enter depends on the current sort order of the main view. To avoid confusion, switch to pair number sort before doing extensive editing.

Automatic Opponent Updates

By default, editing a result here also updates the opponent’s result automatically. To suppress this, uncheck the box above the player data.

If you create inconsistent results (e.g., both players showing a win), SwissSys will warn you.

Resolve inconsistencies before pairing the next round. Use Edit → Validate to find and fix conflicts. Unresolved conflicts may prevent pairing.

Full-Point Byes

If you are using a non-standard bye value (half point or zero) but need to give a player a full-point bye, do so from the Pairings Setup Dialog when pairing the round, or from the pair chart afterward.

The Results Editor does not support entering full-point byes when the default bye value is set to something other than 1.
