Logging Settings - Help Menu
Opens the Logging Settings dialog for configuring diagnostic logging. Use this when troubleshooting issues or when asked by support to capture additional diagnostic information.
General Logging Tab
Logging Options
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Enable logging | Turns logging on or off. Default: enabled. |
Log Level
| Level | What is captured |
|---|---|
| Normal | Application startup, tournament operations, file/database actions, errors |
| Debug | Everything in Normal, plus detailed performance metrics, HTTP details, UI summaries |
| Verbose Debug | Everything in Debug, plus all UI interactions and full application state snapshots |
The default level is Normal. Use Debug for general troubleshooting. Use Verbose Debug when asked by support to capture full diagnostic detail.
File Settings
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Log file path | Directory where the log file is written. Default: %APPDATA%\SwissSys\SwissSys 11\logs\ |
| Max log file size | Maximum size in MB before the log is truncated. Default: 3 MB. |
| Browse | Opens a folder picker to choose a different log directory |
| Reset to Defaults | Restores the default path and file size |
| View Log File | Opens the current log file in the default text editor |
| Clear Log | Deletes the contents of the current log file |
Submit to Support Tab
Use this tab to send your log files directly to technical support for analysis.
Set the log level to Verbose Debug
Switch to the General Logging tab and set Log Level to Verbose Debug.
Reproduce the problem
Perform the steps that trigger the issue so the diagnostic information is captured in the log.
Return to Submit to Support tab
Switch back to the Submit to Support tab.
Upload Logs to Support
Click Upload Logs to Support. Enter a description of the problem when prompted.
Log files contain technical diagnostic information about your tournament data and system configuration. If you are not authenticated with a ChessRoster account, you will also be prompted for your email address.
