Check Pairing Integrity
Use Check Integrity when result entry in the pair chart stops responding — for example, pressing W to give a player a win produces no result.
This symptom indicates conflicting data in the tournament file that SwissSys cannot resolve on its own.
How to Run It
Open the pair chart
Make sure you are on the affected round in the pair chart.
Run Check Integrity
Go to Tools → Check integrity from the pair chart menu.
SwissSys scans and repairs
The program searches for errors in the pairing data and corrects them automatically. In most cases, normal operation resumes immediately.
Check Integrity resolves the vast majority of data conflicts. Only severe file corruption (such as from a system crash mid-save) may require additional steps.
When to Use This
- Result entry produces no response (typing W, D, or L does nothing)
- Results appear to revert after being entered
- Standings are inconsistent with entered results
If the Problem Persists
If Check Integrity does not resolve the issue:
- Use Edit → Validate to find and display specific inconsistencies
- Correct the conflicts manually using the Results Editor
- Contact support with your tournament file if the problem continues
