Scratch Pad - Reports Menu
A free-text notepad for tournament notes, reminders, or anything else you want to record.
The scratch pad is not stored inside the tournament .sjson file. Instead, your notes are saved to a separate plain-text sidecar file named after the current tournament — for example, My Event Notes.txt in the tournament folder. If no tournament is open yet, notes are saved to a default Notes.txt in the SwissSys application data folder; if a section is open but the tournament has not been named, they are saved to a <Section> Notes.txt file. Notes are written when you click OK (and only if you have made changes); clicking Cancel discards changes made since the pad was opened.
The toolbar at the top of the window provides these buttons:
- OK — Save your notes to the sidecar
.txtfile and close. - Cancel — Discard any changes made since the pad was opened, and close.
- Clear — Empty the notepad.
- Load from default notes — Load the contents of the default
Notes.txtfile (the notes you may have written before a tournament was activated). This is handy if you jotted down notes before declaring a tournament and want to pull them into the current event.
For player-specific notes, use Player messages instead.
