Resort All by Rating - Players Menu
Re-sorts all players in the current section by their current primary rating, reassigning pair numbers in the process. Use this when the current ordering no longer reflects actual ratings.
SwissSys normally keeps players sorted automatically during registration and rating edits. This command is a manual override for situations where the automatic sort has gotten out of sync.
FIDE events: Changing pair numbers after round 4 is not permitted under FIDE rules. SwissSys will block this command after round 4 in FIDE events.
When to Use This
- You imported players or made batch rating changes and the order is incorrect.
- You switched ratings (via Switch Ratings/IDs) and need the sort order to reflect the new primary rating.
- You manually adjusted pair numbers and want to reset back to rating order.
Tie-Breaking in the Sort
When players have equal ratings, the sort order depends on your settings:
- Standard events: Equally rated players are sorted randomly (if random insertions are enabled) or by their original order.
- FIDE events: Equally rated players are sorted according to FIDE ranking rules.
SwissSys will show a confirmation message describing which tie-breaking method will be used before proceeding.
