Confirm Player Eligibility - Players Menu
Runs an eligibility audit against the section limits you defined in tournament setup. Any players whose rating, age/grade, or membership expiration falls outside the allowed ranges are listed for review.
Run this before pairing the first round to catch any players who slipped into the wrong section during a busy registration period.
What It Checks
The dialog lets you choose which criteria to check:
| Option | What is verified |
|---|---|
| Rating | Player’s rating falls within the section’s upper and lower rating limits |
| Age/Grade | Player’s age or grade is within the section’s allowed range |
| Expiration 1 | Player’s first membership expiration date is not in the past |
| Expiration 2 | Player’s second membership expiration date is not in the past |
Lifetime members (expiration set to life, 99/99/99, or 12/31/2099) are never flagged as expired.
Scope: One Section or All Sections
Before running the check, choose the scope:
- Check all sections — Scans every section in the tournament file.
- This section only — Scans the currently active section.
Reading the Results
If any ineligible players are found, a report window lists each player with the section name, pair number, player name, and the failing value (for example, rating = 1850 for a section capped at 1600).
If no problems are found, SwissSys shows: “No ineligible players found.”
This check only reports ineligible players — it does not move or remove them. You must act on the results manually, typically by using Move Player or correcting the registration data.
Prevention vs. Detection
- To prevent mis-entries, enable the rating and age/grade registration rules in Options → Environment Options → Registration & Editing before registration begins.
- Use Confirm Player Eligibility as a final safety net before the first pairing, especially after a high-volume registration session.
