Ratings Report for USCF - Utilities Menu
This feature converts a file saved by SwissSys to a set of files in the format the USCF requires for online ratings reports. For information on submitting a ratings report for FIDE instead, click here.
Converting Files
To convert your SwissSys files to the USCF file submission format:
- Select tournament files - Tell the dialog where to find the SwissSys tournament files you want to convert
- File selection notes:
- You only need to convert the last tournament file you saved for each section
- For multiple-section tournaments, load the sections in order
- Use standard Windows selection (Shift or Ctrl keys) to select multiple files
Tournament Information
- Fill in Tournament Overview information at the bottom of the page
- Click OK when done
- Complete Section Details dialogs (one for each section)
- The “Send cross table to” field needs explanation:
- Type A for Affiliate
- Type T for TD
- Type N for None
- The “Send cross table to” field needs explanation:
Clicking on OK here takes you to the next step, which is telling the program where you want the TA files to be stored on your computer.
The three .dbf files you will create and upload are:
- thexport.dbf
- tsexport.dbf
- tdexport.dbf
Important Reminders:
The USCF needs ID numbers or they cannot process your file.
If you used non-standard key codes in the files you are about to convert, (i.e. result codes other than W=Win, D=Draw, L=Loss) then you must first:
- Set up the same (bad) keycodes in SwissSys
- Load your file
- Restore the normal keycodes
- Re-save the file
You should submit your reports as soon after the tournament as possible. (The USCF likes to get reports within two weeks of an event’s conclusion.)
However, if you end up with a backlog of reports, you can combine them onto one report by treating them as separate sections of one long-term “tournament.”
Combining Multiple Tournaments
- Enter master tournament data in the first page
- Note: Even if the information you type here differs from how you originally presented your tournaments, it will work for reporting purposes
- Add each tournament as separate sections and fill out the section details as usual
