Update Players from Database
Menu: Database > Update players from database…
This command compares player data in the current tournament section against your configured local database and offers to update any differences found in ratings, membership dates, names, and other data.
Prerequisites
- A local database must be configured. See Database Wizard for quick setup or Database Setup for advanced configuration.
How to Use
Open the command
Go to Database > Update players from database…
Configure update options
The Update Options dialog appears. The Rating Search settings frame at the top shows your current database configuration. In the Data to update section, check which fields to update:
- Rating - Primary rating
- Rating 2 - Secondary rating
- Expirations - Membership expiration dates
- Name and State - Player name and state information
- Other data - Additional player data fields
Choose section scope and start
To update only the current section, leave Update all sections unchecked and click OK. To update every section in the tournament, check Update all sections and click OK.
Review changes
For each player where differences are found, a confirmation prompt appears:
- Skip - Leave this player unchanged
- Update - Accept changes for this player
- Update all - Accept all remaining changes without further prompts
- Cancel - Abort the entire operation
View results
A results dialog shows two lists: Updated players (left) and Players not found (right). If no players were matched, a brief message appears instead. Click OK to close.
Membership Date Protection
Membership expiration dates are not overwritten if the player’s existing expiration date in the tournament is later than the date in the database, since the member may have renewed since the database was last updated.
