Wall Chart Formatting

This dialog page controls the appearance of the wall chart. Here are the options you can set:

Primary sort

The wall chart (and standings) can be sorted many different ways. If “standings” is the primary sort, any tiebreaks you have set will also be included.

Tip: After making pairings, using standings as the primary wall chart sort is a good way of confirming the validity of the pairing choices SwissSys makes.

Make sure you use no tiebreaks when doing this, since tiebreaks don’t count in making pairings.

Secondary sort

Choose between pair number order and score (rank) order.

Note that this secondary sort choice applies to both wall chart and standings listings.

Display options

Show team and state, Show class and age/grade, etc — These have their own columns which you can display or not as you wish.

Show expanded team names — This makes SwissSys print out the full name of the team under the player’s name.

If the team code has not been expanded, just the team code shows up.

Note that the team code will also show up in its own column if you use the “Show team and state” option above.

Show rounds not played — Check this option if you want to see all rounds scheduled for the tournament.

You might want to do this if, for instance, you want to be aware of reserved byes that are coming up.

It uses the number of rounds you have declared for a section and shows all rounds in the wall chart, not just the ones paired so far.

Show withdrawn players in gray — This is a convenient way to see at a glance in the wall chart or standings who is still active.

Color code byes and forfeits — This dresses up the wall chart with a splash of color, highlighting byes, unplayed games, and forfeits, similar to how the USCF shows the chart when you submit it for ratings.
