Pair Chart Formatting
This dialog page controls the appearance of the pair chart. Here are the options you can set:
Extra player info
This group box allows you to append an extra bit of information about players to their names in the pair chart: Ratings, scores, colors due, and float information. For colors, listings range from “BB” (strongly due black) to “WW” (strongly due white). Floats are listed as U (just had an up-float), u (had an up-float two rounds ago), and likewise for down-float symbols, D and d.
Message for full-point byes
Just plain “Bye”, “Please wait”, “See T.D.”, or a custom message of your choice, such as “You’d probably lose anyway.”
Display options
Don’t display bye score — Set this option to suppress the display of the full point “1” in the pair chart. Sometimes players run off without waiting for possible pairing adjustments when they see the score posted.
Team codes, Board numbers, Pair numbers — Show them or don’t show them.
Mark unreported games
If checked, all unreported games will have a question mark next to them. In addition, forfeited games will be marked with an “F”, adjourned games with an ”@”, and games marked as unrated for FIDE with a “U” (which will also appear in the wall chart regardless of this setting).
If you set games as unrated for FIDE (in accordance with FIDE rules that allow certain games to be played but unrated), using this marking feature is highly recommended so you can keep track of which games are unrated.
Show zero point byes
If checked, then when you make pairings SwissSys will include in the pairing list any players with zero point byes. Any change in this setting will not take effect until you pair the next round. Usually you will want to leave this unchecked, unless you are running a fixed-roster tournament or otherwise want to have the option of switching a paired player with an unpaired one.
Fixed-roster options
Seat fixed-roster by table — If checked, board numbers will be converted to table numbers, with each team seated at a single table.
List fixed-roster team players on same side — If checked, players for fixed-roster events will be listed in the pair chart all on the same side of the chart (either all as black or all as white). If unchecked players will be listed with their true colors assigned, switching white and black on alternate boards.
Actual colors assigned are not affected, only the listing in the charts. Note that all players with forfeit wins will slide over to the left side of the chart as usual, regardless of which team they are on.
Print fixed-roster teams as headers — If checked, then when pairings are printed the team name will appear as a header at the start of its pairings for greater clarity.
Additional options
Let round robin players take turns on board 1 — Check this option to give all players in your round robin a chance to be the star and sit at the top board.
Space out board numbers when pairing — If you have a lot more space at the site than you need, but don’t want to move your board numbers, you can use this option to give players more elbow room by placing them on alternate boards only (Bd1, Bd3, Bd5, etc.). This takes effect the next time you do pairings or renumber boards.
Make all fixed-roster teams use the same number of boards — Use this option to keep board spacing consistent.
Sort accelerated pairings by adjusted score — When using accelerated pairings, the pair table (and therefore board assignments) can be based on either a player’s true score or the adjusted (fictitious) score.
