Headers in Printouts

To identify your charts more clearly, SwissSys includes a one-line header at the top of printouts. Usually this header consists of tournament and section titles, along with a chart label (e.g. “Standings”). For pair charts the current round and a time control listing is also included.

SwissSys distinguishes between “tournament titles and time controls” and “section titles and time controls”. Both types of header are printed, except that a section time control will get priority over the time controls listed for the tournament.

Header options

Titles - If you use a reasonable naming system for your tournament and its sections, you can dispense with the tournament and section titles.

Tournament time controls - If you have one time control for several sections, use this as the “master setting.” If any sections use separate time controls, set them as “section time controls” below.

If there is no section time control set, then the tournament time controls will be printed at the head of your pair charts as a reminder to players.

Section time controls - If not blank, then this setting overrides the tournament time controls setting listed above. This allows you to have the benefits of the tournament time controls setting without losing some flexibility.
