Master List Management

This dialog is where you edit your master list of expanded team names and do other basic maintenance of this list.

Automatic Team Code System

SwissSys features a mostly automatic system for team code expansions. As you enter players in a team tournament, you typically will select the player’s team code from the drop-down list where you type in that information. (If the team code does not appear there, type it in.) When you register the player, if SwissSys sees that there is a team it has never encountered before, it prompts you for this team’s fully expanded team name, and then saves it to a file.

This file (the “teamname” file, as given in your environment options), is loaded automatically when you run SwissSys.

Once a team code expansion is on record, you can just let SwissSys handle the expansions for that team from then on.

The default name for this list is “TeamNames.txt”.

Seeding Your List

You can seed your list in several ways:

1. As you enter new players, new expansions are added as described above.
2. As you open old files, any new expansions will be automatically added to your list.
3. If you already have a list of team name expansions, you can use the “Import” button of this dialog to convert that list to the new master list format. Note to TDs who share their files: If ever the expansions in your master list differ from those held in a section file you load (as they might be if you are loading section files created by someone else who used a different coding system), you may want to uncheck the option Use master team name list, held in the Team menu.

This will permit you to use the original expansions without adding anything to your own master list.

However, in such cases the expansions cannot be edited here, since this dialog only deals with the master list.
