Pair Chart Toolbar
The pair chart toolbar buttons (or keystrokes) and the options that go with them are as follows:
Result Entry Buttons
- L - Give the subsequently clicked-on player a loss
- D - Give players a draw
- W - Give players a win
- C - Clear a result
- F - Give a forfeit loss
- Z - Give a forfeit draw
- X - Give a forfeit win
- B - Give both players a forfeit loss
Pairing Adjustment Buttons
- S - Switch two players. Use this feature to fine tune the pairings on players who are already in the pair chart but need to be moved around.
The only restriction here is that players with results recorded may not be switched. If this is a problem, first clear their results. See Adjusting pairings for details about this procedure.
- R - Show the replacement player list
This powerful feature has two handy uses:
- Replace a player with another one who is currently unpaired or with a bye value
- Delete a player (or an entire match-up) from the pair chart
See Adjusting pairings for details about this procedure.
Rating Control
- Unr - The button marked “Unr” allows you to mark and unmark certain games as unrated for when you later submit the tournament to FIDE for ratings (the USCF rating service does not support this option).
Depending on player ratings and time controls, some games that count towards a player’s score have the option of not being FIDE-rated.
To mark a game as not rated, click on this button (or select Results | Toggle unrated/rated for FIDE from the pair chart menu), then click on the game whose result is not to be rated. Note that this function has no effect on forfeits and byes, which are not ratable anyway. Repeating the process restores its status as a rated game.
You may wish to turn on the game highlight feature (on the formatting options dialog for the pair chart) when you mark unrated games. That way you can see at a glance which games you have marked as unrated.
To make it more clear which games are unrated, the wall chart will list all such results with a “U” as well.
