View Menu

The view menu is used to set how the main screen appears. It has the following options:

Wall Chart View

This displays the current section in wall chart format.

The wall chart (sometimes called a cross table) shows round-by-round details on each player. The information it contains consists of player pair number, name, I.D., rating, team, club, state, and class, along with the color, opponent, and cumulative score for each round. Many of these fields can be switched off if you don’t need them with the Options | Format Options menu command. (The shortcut for this is the checkmark toolbar button.) Column and row sizes can be tweaked, too.

See adjusting the columns.

Standings View

This displays the current section in standings format.

As with the wall chart view, many columns can be shown or hidden using the Options | Format Options menu command.

Multi-Purpose View Mode

Use this option, or the toolbar button shortcuts, to turn on and off the multi-view charts showing standings and pairings.

Show Roster

If checked, this displays a concise player list on top of the main view.

This list can be dragged out of the way if you like.

The roster has its own popup menu and specialized functions that make certain player operations easier.

See the topic player roster for more details.

Team-Based Views

(Fixed-roster sections only) - Use this to toggle between viewing data in team-based mode and individual player mode.

The shortcut is Ctrl-T. This option affects the main view as well as certain other relevant dialogs, such as the pair chart.

View/Hide Combined Sections

Click this to have SwissSys merge all your sections into one and display them as if they were all in one big master section.

You could then do anything with this master section that you do with other sections, including save it, sort it, and view reports.

This is similar to the merge operation, except that it is more automatic and works on all your sections at once.

It is a powerful way to handle many cross-section management issues, such as overall prizes and standings.

Important Note

The combined section shown is not automatically updated when you continue working with the other sections. To refresh the combined view, just click the “view combined sections” menu again.
