Withdrawals - Players Menu

This command allows you to withdraw, re-enter, or delete players from the tournament.

Withdrawing Players

To withdraw a player, select them from the roster and use this command. Withdrawn players will be marked with “W/D” in reports and will not be paired in future rounds.

Re-entering Players

To re-enter a previously withdrawn player, select them and use this command again. SwissSys will give you the option to re-enter that player.

Deleting Players

If a player can be deleted completely from the roster (that is, if there are no results for the player yet), you will be offered the chance to do a deletion after clicking OK. If you want to delete a player who already has results, you must first clear all that player’s results using the Edit | Clear selected results option.

Shortcuts

You can also right-click on a player in the roster to access withdrawal options quickly while holding the Shift or Control key.

Team Tournaments

Note about fixed-roster tournaments: If you want to withdraw an entire team, do so from “Team-based view” mode. Do not simply withdraw each individual member of the team. Besides being more work, it won’t do the job properly, since the team will still be paired and will just forfeit, since it has no players to compete.

To get a list of inactive players, use the Players | Bye/Inactive players menu command.
