Entering Results

Enter results directly in pairing chart using mouse or keyboard.

New in v11.76: Round-Robin and Team Match tournaments can use All Rounds Results Entry form (Pairings → All rounds results entry…) for bulk entry in single grid.

Mouse Entry

Click toolbar button for desired result
Click player to assign result
Opponent automatically receives corresponding result

Toolbar Buttons:

Result buttons (Win, Loss, Draw, etc.)
Player Selection Tool (deselects result button)
Clear Result button (eraser icon)
Switch Players button (two green arrows)

Behavior:

Selected result button remains pressed for multiple assignments
Forfeit results display with marker (X, Z, or F)
Bye results entered same way

Keyboard Entry

Click player (use Player Selection Tool to deselect result buttons)
Navigate with arrow keys (up/down for pairings, left/right for individual player)
Assign result by:
- Clicking toolbar button + Enter, or
- Pressing keyboard shortcut letter shown on toolbar button

Next player auto-selected after entry for rapid progression.

Double-Round Tournaments

For double-round tournaments (labeled “Dbl” in setup), result entry works differently:

Double Entry Mode

When the Double Entry Mode checkbox is enabled in the toolbar:

Click result buttons repeatedly to cycle through combined scores (0, ½, 1, 1½, 2)
Both games are recorded simultaneously with a single entry
Results appear in the wall chart using special characters ($, #, %)

Individual Entry Mode

When Double Entry Mode is disabled:

Enter each game result separately (rounds N and N+1)
Use standard W/L/D for each individual game

Forfeit Limitation: SwissSys does not distinguish between loss+forfeit loss and double forfeit loss. Make this distinction by editing the wall chart after results are entered.
