Internet Tab - Environment Options

This tab controls automatic synchronization with the ChessRoster web platform.

Manual sync is always available via the status bar regardless of automatic sync settings.

ChessRoster Auto-Sync

You can enable and configure automatic synchronization between SwissSys and the ChessRoster online platform. In order to use auto-sync, make sure the following requirements are met:

RequirementDescription
ChessRoster event linkTournament must be linked to online event
Active ChessRoster sessionValid login session must exist
Tournament loadedTournament file must be open in SwissSys

When you have met the requirements, checking the box to “Enable automatic sync” will transmit data such as:

  • Player roster and registration updates
  • Round pairings
  • Game results
  • Current standings

The status bar will display sync status and the time of the last sync.

Interval (minutes)

This setting allows you to control the frequency of automatic synchronization with ChessRoster. The default is 30 minutes, but you can set the auto-sync to run at any interval between 1 and 1440 minutes (1 minute to 24 hours).

Recommended intervals:

IntervalTournament TypeUpdate Frequency
5-15 minActive with online registrationNear real-time
30-60 minLess time-sensitive eventsModerate
60+ minPost-event or archived tournamentsMinimal

The timer runs when tournament is loaded and session is active, and if an auto-sync is overdue, the timer will check every minute until synchronization is successful.

Recommendation: For active tournaments with online registration, use 10-15 minutes. For events where timing is less critical, 30-60 minutes is sufficient.
