Internet Tab - Environment Options
This tab controls automatic synchronization with the ChessRoster web platform.
ChessRoster Auto-Sync
You can enable and configure automatic synchronization between SwissSys and the ChessRoster online platform. In order to use auto-sync, make sure the following requirements are met:
| Requirement | Description |
|---|---|
| ChessRoster event link | Tournament must be linked to online event |
| Active ChessRoster session | Valid login session must exist |
| Tournament loaded | Tournament file must be open in SwissSys |
When you have met the requirements, checking the box to “Enable automatic sync” will transmit data such as:
- Player roster and registration updates
- Round pairings
- Game results
- Current standings
The status bar will display sync status and the time of the last sync.
Interval (minutes)
This setting allows you to control the frequency of automatic synchronization with ChessRoster. The default is 30 minutes, but you can set the auto-sync to run at any interval between 1 and 1440 minutes (1 minute to 24 hours).
Recommended intervals:
| Interval | Tournament Type | Update Frequency |
|---|---|---|
| 5-15 min | Active with online registration | Near real-time |
| 30-60 min | Less time-sensitive events | Moderate |
| 60+ min | Post-event or archived tournaments | Minimal |
The timer runs when tournament is loaded and session is active, and if an auto-sync is overdue, the timer will check every minute until synchronization is successful.
Recommendation: For active tournaments with online registration, use 10-15 minutes. For events where timing is less critical, 30-60 minutes is sufficient.
Quick Reference
| Setting | Default | Purpose | Key Benefit |
