Online Tournament Assistant

This feature allows you to ready your online tournament for USCF ratings.

Currently only tournament reports from Chess.com are supported, but other services may be added in the future.

Online tournament reports come without USCF ID numbers, so if you didn’t have SwissSys to help, you would need to copy in all the tournament information by hand at the USCF site.

Two features in SwissSys work together so you can avoid this menial and error-prone task.

First is the ability to read the tournament reports that Chess.com creates. You can open these files using the File | Open command, the same as with a regular SwissSys file.

Note that some names may be missing or replaced by their user names.

You can ignore this, since for rating purposes the USCF only requires valid ID numbers.

These Chess.com reports come without the USCF ID numbers you need if you want to have it rated.

That’s where the second feature comes into play.

From this dialog, click the Download button to save a copy on your computer of the USCF ID look-up table from the Chess.com site. This file contains Chess.com user names linked to their USCF IDs.

Then, to load the IDs for your current section, answer yes when prompted, or click on the button marked “Look up USCF ID numbers for this section”.

This loads ID numbers for all the players found in the look-up table and prepares your section for the ratings report, which you then do with the Utilities | Ratings reports menu command of SwissSys.
