Club Options
When you read a club list, SwissSys presents a dialog of options to control how club players are imported into your tournament section.
Section Placement
Decide where to place imported club players:
- Add to current section – Players are added to the currently active section alongside any existing players
- Start new section – Create a separate new section containing only the club players
This choice depends on your tournament structure. Use “Add to current section” for a single tournament section, or “Start new section” for multi-section events.
Player List Handling
Control how imported club players interact with existing registrations:
- Append to existing players – Add club players to any players already registered in the section
- Clear existing players first – Remove all current players before importing club players
Choose “Clear existing players first” only when replacing a player list entirely. Otherwise, use “Append” to keep existing registrations.
Additional Import Options
Bye Management
Preserves bye assignments from the club list during import. Players with reserved byes maintain their bye status after import.
Fee Handling
Manages entry fee information from the club list. Ensures fees from pre-registered players are correctly transferred into your tournament.
Duplicate Name Detection
Prevents accidental duplicate player entries when importing. SwissSys checks for players already registered and alerts you if matches are found.
Automatic Resorting
Automatically reorders the player list after import based on ratings or other criteria. Ensures correct pair numbering following import.
When This Dialog Appears
This dialog automatically appears when you use:
- File | Club | Read from Club – Import a club player list
- File | Club | Write to Club – Export player data to a club file
- Other club-related import/export operations in the File menu
Proper configuration of these options ensures smooth integration of pre-registered players into your tournament structure without conflicts or data loss.
