What Comes with the Installation

Included with the installation are the following files:

  • Swiss11.exe — This is the main SwissSys program, version 11.

  • Swiss.chm — The help file for SwissSys.

  • Club.txt — A practice club list.

  • Demo1.json — A practice tournament with two sections.

  • TeamDemo.json — A fixed-roster style demo tournament.

  • Tutorial.pdf — A printable, illustrated version of the tutorial.

This is the same tutorial that comes with the help file. It is in .pdf format and can be read and printed from any .pdf reader program.

  • SwissSys Languages.xls — A spreadsheet file containing menu and dialog translations.

  • Startup Hints.txt — A list of tips from experienced SwissSys users, optionally displayed at startup.

  • Guide.txt — Text for the step-by-step guide to setting up a tournament.

  • Several “Quick font styles” with the “.fnt” extension.

File Locations

  • The SwissSys folder itself will be wherever you put it when you install the program (a subfolder of your program files folder if you use the default installation.)

  • The demo files are stored in your Documents folder. Typical path: [My Documents]\SwissSys\Events\Demos

  • The events folder is the best place to save your own tournaments. A good practice is to start each tournament with a new, empty folder.

  • The other files that SwissSys uses will be stored in the SwissSys AppData folder. You should rarely if ever need direct access to these files since SwissSys maintains them automatically.
