Program Overview
SwissSys for Windows is an easy-to-learn program that sets pairings and keeps track of results in chess tournaments. It supports Swiss system, round robin (all-play-all), ladder, and even 1 vs. 2 style pairings.
It can handle up to 2000 players per section through 24 rounds, following USCF or FIDE rules for pairings, color choice, and assignment of byes.
Some practice tournaments are on the disk (the various “Demo” files). You can load them with the “open” command and then experiment with the menu commands on your own.
Versatile Control
SwissSys is a versatile program, exercising as much or as little control over pairings as you like. This makes it easy to adapt to any kind of pairing style.
If you want to let SwissSys do it all, it will give you reliable pairings round after round in a flash. If, on the other hand, you prefer to set some of the pairings yourself, SwissSys lets you do that with just a couple of keystrokes or mouse clicks.
