Changing Game Results and Other Data
There are two kinds of data you may need to change while running a tournament: Player data and game results.
For changes to the pairings for the current round, see the topic Adjusting pairings. Both kinds of data allow for different approaches to making changes, and some methods overlap.
This topic gives an overview of these various methods for making fixes.
To change player data
Say you want to correct the spelling of a player’s name. To do this, call up the Tinker dialog where you can make the fix.
Call up Tinker either by selecting Players | Tinker from the main menu, by clicking on the Tinker toolbar button (with the little wrench), or by clicking on the player’s name in the main view while in Select mode. (Select mode is one of the options, contrasted with the Edit mode, that you can choose from the Edit menu.)
To change game results
Method 1: Using the pair chart
This is the same approach you use to enter results in the first place: Call up the pair chart dialog with Pairings | View pairings/Enter results and fix the result there.
If the result you want to fix is from a previous round, select the round number from the box displayed near the top right of the dialog.
Method 2: Results Editor
This method involves calling up the Results Editor by double-clicking on the result you want to fix in the main view. (This also requires you to be in Select mode, as described above.) Use the Results Editor to fix the result for any completed rounds.
In the Results Editor dialog that pops up, use the boxes shown to fix the result, opponent, or color. (Note that in FIDE mode you will not be allowed to change opponents here, only results and colors.)
