AI-Assisted Descriptions and Images
ChessRoster includes optional AI tools for drafting descriptions and creating tournament or organizer branding. You remain in control: generated text is shown for review, and generated images are not saved until you choose one, crop it, and save the form.
Drafting or Rewriting a Description
Open the tournament or organizer editor and find the Description field.
- If the description is empty, select Generate with AI.
- If it already has content, select Rewrite with AI.
- Choose a tone: Friendly, Professional, Formal, Enthusiastic, or Casual.
- Add optional notes or instructions. For a tournament, you can also select one of the organizer’s recent tournaments as a writing-style example.
ChessRoster uses the details already entered on the form as context. Complete the important facts—such as dates, location, sections, and pricing—before generating for a more useful result.
Reviewing Suggested Text
AI-written text is a suggestion, not an automatic replacement. The review view highlights each proposed change. You can:
- Accept or Discard an individual change.
- Accept All or Discard All to resolve the entire suggestion at once.
Review names, dates, prices, policies, and other facts before saving. AI can produce polished wording while still getting a detail wrong.
Creating an Image
The image assistant is available for organizer logos and banners and for tournament banners.
Open Image Studio
Select Generate with AI next to an empty image. If an image already exists, choose Refine this image to describe a change while retaining it as a reference, or Replace this image to start over.
Describe the result
Include the subject, visual style, and colors you want. Starter prompts fill the prompt box so you can edit them before submitting. When saved organizer branding is available, you may use it as a visual reference.
Review the versions
Generation usually takes 20–40 seconds. Each version produced in the current Image Studio session remains available, so you can compare them and select an earlier version if you prefer it.
Choose and crop
Select Use this image on the version you want. ChessRoster then opens the normal crop tool: banners use a wide 3:1 crop and logos use a square 1:1 crop.
Save the form
The cropped image is not permanent until you save the tournament or organizer form.
A tournament must be created before its banner can be generated. Finish Step 1 of the tournament wizard, then add the banner under Tournament Details.
Reference Images and Unsaved Changes
The assistant can use a saved organizer logo or banner as a visual reference. If you changed that branding but have not saved the form yet, Image Studio still uses the last saved version. Save first if you want the newest image used as the reference.
You cannot save a form while an image is still generating, uploading, or waiting to be cropped. Finish or cancel that image task first.
Daily Image Limit
Each user can successfully generate up to 10 images in a rolling 24-hour period. Stopping the wait does not cancel the provider request and still counts toward the limit if the image finishes successfully.
