ChessRoster Pricing
ChessRoster has no monthly fee and no setup fee. You pay only when a player pays to register online.
Registration platform fee
The standard ChessRoster platform fee is $1 USD (or $1.50 CAD) per paid registration. Free registrations carry no platform fee.
Your organization may have a configured rate that differs from the standard rate, such as a fixed amount, a percentage of the entry fee, or both. Your actual rate and the exact math for a given entry fee appear on the Registration Method step of the tournament wizard when you enable ChessRoster Registration. A specific tournament can also have its own rate, which is shown on that tournament’s Registration Method step.
PayPal processing fees
PayPal charges its own processing fee on each payment. That fee is separate from the ChessRoster platform fee and is set by PayPal; see PayPal’s current merchant fees for the applicable rate.
What players pay
Both fees are deducted from each registration before your payout. Players pay the entry fee you set, with nothing added on top. See PayPal Setup for details.
SwissSys report hosting is free
If you run your tournaments in SwissSys, hosting your reports on ChessRoster is always free, for every SwissSys user. You do not need paid online registration to host SwissSys reports. See How ChessRoster and SwissSys Work Together.
Ask SwissSistant
When you are signed in, the SwissSistant help assistant can tell organization admins their organization’s configured rate and estimate the fees for a given entry fee. It does not estimate PayPal’s processing fee, which PayPal sets.
